This super-dry cider from Paynters in Hawke’s Bay has many great chardonnay characteristics, thanks to French oak and malolactic fermentation. The aroma is funky but the flavour is baked apple sweetness with some apple skin and tannic notes for balance. Finishes exceptionally dry.
