Founded in 2013 Laughing Bones is an independent, family-owned craft brewery. Located in Silverdale, just north of Auckland, we produce fresh, tasty, well-balanced beers in a variety of classic styles as well as innovative, new beers such as Mountain IPAs. We use quality ingredients and pay attention to every step of the process. Our guiding principle is to make well-balanced beers that a customer wants to come back to have a second one. We honour the ingredients and want to make them shine. No shortcuts!

Meet John Morawski

John made his way to New Zealand from the East Coast of the United States in 2007. After decades of product and market development work globally, when coming to New Zealand, he chose to turn his lifelong love affair with beer and brewing into a business, putting his science background to good use. After an initial stint in the brewpub business, John decided to focus on the making of beer and so Laughing Bones Brewing was born in 2013. The new brewery in Silverdale opened its doors in 2017. There we brew 1200l batches at a time, with a focus on authenticity when it comes to beer styles and processes.
