Georges Road Wines

Georges Road Wines, the philosophy revolves around a natural approach to winemaking, prioritising minimal intervention to allow the true essence of the fruit to shine. With an emphasis on balance in the winery, the interplay between sweetness, acidity, oak, tannin, and fruit is carefully orchestrated to craft delicate, elegant, and food-friendly wines that are ultimately enjoyable. What sets Georges Road Wines apart is the hands-on involvement of winemaker and owner Kirk Bray at every stage of production, from grape to glass.

Since purchasing eight hectares of bare, stony, free-draining land in 2003, Kirk and his wife Alison have expanded their vineyard, crafted their winery, and added both a cellar door tasting room and a unique B&B called the ‘wine pod’ nestled among the vines, offering elevated views of the rolling Three Deans Range and Mt Grey.

Despite its small size, Georges Road Wines is producing exceptional wines rooted in rich traditions.

Meet Kirk Bray

Kirk is deeply committed to traditional winemaking techniques. He ensures that Syrah, Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir grapes are harvested by hand. His winemaking process is largely "hands-off," employing traditional methods such as hand plunging, natural fermentation, no fining, and extended bottle maturation.
