Ash Ridge Winery, nestled in Hawke’s Bay’s Bridge Pa Triangle. Owners Leith and Tracy Ashworth, deeply rooted in the region, reside nearby with their three children and beloved wine dog, Winston. The essence of their operation lies in their hands-on approach, with Leith juggling roles from winemaker to event host, embodying the spirit of Hawke's Bay. As a close-knit, organic, family venture, each bottle tells a tale of meticulous craftsmanship, from grape to glass, offering a diverse array of quality wines straight from their vineyard.
Meet Leith Ashworth
Leith and Tracy Ashworth purchased Ash Ridge in November 2021, grasping the huge opportunity to go all in on their own winery, refine their talents, and build a place to be proud of.
We’re a small team, and our 'all-in' approach is something special to Hawke's Bay. Not only does Leith run the place, he’s our head winemaker, grows the grapes, bottles the wine, hosts events, runs tastings, flips pizza, farms our animals... and the list continues! That's why, when you visit us for a tasting at Ash Ridge, you get us as we are. So don't be surprised if Leith heads straight over from production, boots and all.
Leith is also the winemaker for his family winery, Junction Wines, which was founded by his father, former All-Black John Ashworth. Leith has a degree in viticulture and oneology from Lincoln University and has completed vintages in Oregon, Bordeaux, and over 20 years in the Hawkes Bay Wine industry.
